CARE PACKAGE FOR OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ

Classic Green Light Insurance Services of Southern California (CGLISSC) has joint with Hamilton Sundstrand (HS) in the collection and creation of care packages for our soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan. Presently, CGLISSC is acting as a drop-off point for items for these care packages. HS, in San Diego, is responsible for the creation of these packages and the shipment to a military base in the east coast. From there a military transport will carry these packages to Iraq & Afghanista for distribution . A wish list of items needed defines what is useful to the soldiers. Please be generous and contribute to this wonderful cause by dropping off any items on the wish list at our office at 4692 Mission Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92109, at the corner of Diamond Street, during business hours. Next shipment to Iraq is around Thanksgiving and Christmas, 2009.

A recent letter from Chaplain Harris, USN in Iraq, thanking Hamilton Sundstrand for sending the care packages, demonstrates how appreciative the soldiers are of these care packages. An HS internal news release describes the success of this program. A flyer is being distributed in Pacific Beach to appeal to the local residences for items for these packages.

One shipment of packages was sent out April 30th to SPC F. Vaisigago; HM1 E. Auckland, PVT2 T. Countryman; D. Yanez, 1st Lt A. Duncan, and ABH3 J. Roman.

The last shipment of packages was sent out at the end July, 2009. We received an e-mail from Lt. Ron Mendoza, USN, that included pictures of soldiers from his troop opening these care packages. We received a second e-mail. from Captain Benjamin Closs, USMC, thanking us also for the care packages.

We feel very proud of the support people of Pacific Beach have given to this program and look forward to the next shipment set scheduled for Thanksgiving and Christmass.
